A glance at the new car registration statistics instantly reveals that currently all leading automotive manufacturers are winning customers over with shapely hatchback vehicles – a segment that is also predicted to continue to grow in future. Following this trend, WashTec is presenting a smart solution for effectively washing vehicle rears.

Virtually all the latest vehicle models feature bumper recesses, which help to create a modern, clear line in vehicle design. This trend has just one snag – namely, in car washes, these 'problem areas' could not be cleaned satisfactorily either with the roof washer or with the side washer systems known to date on the market.

Innovative tilt mechanism for cleaning problem areas.

The MultiFlex side brush system from WashTec marks the introduction of multidimensionality into vehicle washing. This innovation not only presses itself flexibly in the usual manner onto the vehicle's side contour, but also pivots backwards when washing the rear of the vehicle actively along the sides of the vehicle. Pivoting on two axes, the MultiFlex side brushes ensure maximum vehicle contact around the back ends of the bumpers and the roof pillars.

The active tilting ensures that the known problem areas in many current types of vehicle are reached and cleaned effectively. "MultiFlex side brushes guarantee that cars are washed effectively, especially if these have slanting backs and sides, which is often the case today with a great number of vehicles", says Georg Wimmer, Head of Business Unit at WashTec, explaining his company's latest coup.
